Learn About Meddock Architects

Our Ethos

Architecture is the soul of a space, expressed when the synergy of form, nature, and light beautifully cultivates joy and memories.

We feel that soul through our experiences. Our architecture facilitates these experiences, revealing the soul of the space around you and giving birth to new memories.

Chris and his family in Joshua Tree, Caliornia - Meddock Architects

Chris Meddock

Chris was born and raised in Southern California. His dad is a Civil Engineer, real estate consultant, and a true craftsman and woodworker who mentored Chris' careful eye for detail.

In 2006, Chris graduated from USC's School of Architecture, interning for Scheurer Architects, under Mark Scheurer and Bob White along the way. In 2004, while at school, Chris embarked on a three-month study abroad program to South East Asia. Subsequent numerous trips around the globe helped crystallize his understanding of architecture as an experience—a soul to be felt.

Chris then studied under the mentorship of world class Architect Horst Noppenberger in Laguna Beach. He ultimately became senior designer for Horst, who he credits with providing a true foundation in local modern architecture. Horst demonstrated architectural passion without compromise and instilled a standard of creativity and detail that Chris carries with him today.

In 2015, Chris became a licensed Architect in the state of California. He then apprenticed for a local general contractor, honing his technical skills for building finely crafted homes.

Today, Chris operates his own firm, Meddock Architects, out of Newport Beach, CA.

"Started a remodel with absolutely zero knowledge.  Chris was referred by a friend and he took the time to educate me on the process and coordinated everything with the project. I am quite pleased with his skill and ability to reflect the modern feel I was going for with my job."
